Success is Overrated

Winning doesn’t mean the world I say…
It’s the losers who are made to pay
The price for someone to move ahead
In the race to win our daily bread.

I have had my share of losses and I have won a few times
But I was the same person when I lost as I was when victory was mine
Your score card doesn’t define your best or how much you fall behind.
Its like being able to tell from your license photo how well can you drive.

Men say battles are for the winners to relish,
At the stake is the world that we leave to perish.
Whom do we say is the loser then?
It’s not just one side of soldiers, but all the men.

Winning is immaterial as long as you try your best…
The ups and downs of life are just a test
For someone to win, someone has to lose…
so what if times, the latter “someone” is you
try to take the failures in your stride….
Learn from your mistakes and don’t hurt your pride.

Losing an opportunity does not mean losing a war…
Its just a bump on the road and the destination is still far .
And If it’s a rat race, then who loses is for sure a rat.
But also who wins is no better than that.

Success is overrated and Excellence is an understatement.
No matter how much you win, there is always scope for improvement.
Losing  at times teaches us to learn and grow.
And as the saying goes… we reap what we sow.

And prove to the world that we are not meant to win all the time,
But victory shall come and everyone will have their moment to shine.
Till then.. its you and me enjoying the sun and moon,
For Our chance will come and it shall come soon.
So, be proud to be a loser…
Because without you, there won’t be a true winner.
