TIME MACHINE

remembering what it was like to be 19...
Tennis, squash, badminton.. played back to back..
Caps worn backwards... shorts with pockets full of tazos...
losing bet would mean buying amul kool for the entire gang...
when cassettes were just giving way to CDs..
Exhilaration meant getting for the Lord of the rings trilogy in DVDrip..!!
A time when Linkin park was always on...
When dieting was as alien as aliens...
1 English textbook circulated among everyone just a day before exams..:P
How i miss those days...!!!

TIME MACHINE

Wish there was a time machine free for all to use.
What all would i change if i were let on the lose.
Would i go into the future and look how life is then.
or would i use it to change my past tense?

i take my time to decide what to do?
is it the future, or the past i choose?
For the future is yet to come and still holds hope,
but past is already wound tight in a time rope.

If i see my future i might have the chance to see
the losses i might face and  friends who will befall me.
i can prepare myself in turn
when to the future i return.

But will that mean i will live in fear?
of all the dangers that lie in store, far and near.
I will not be able to hold my own ,
for the fear is greater of what is known.


So, I sit around and think about the time gone by.
If i could change my past, would I?
Life through time has had its ups and downs.
I have met many a people and seen a million towns.

What is it that i would change with this machine of time?
is it to keep the people whose life was lost in mine?
but that too wouldn't save them forever i think.
for time flies, sometimes decades in a wink.

Then what is it that i would do?
not make the same mistakes as i start anew?
But then how would i learn all that i know
life has been a teacher with lessons long and slow.

I laugh at the thought of future and the time gone.
I hold on dearly to my present, for to now i truly belong.
Time machine..! You are no good to me.
For i had to go through my life to be ME
